Profile

  •  Master’s Degree in Computer Science / Software engineering;
  • Min 2 years’ experience in automotive area in Tiers 1 in SW Engineering department;
  • Proven software development experience Linux development environments;
  • Experience with architectures with several SOC (TCC 8xxx, H3, iMX RT…);
  • Solid understanding of the full automotive development life cycle;
  • Software development & testing;
  • Good knowledge of Linux kernel 4 & 5;
  • Ability to analyze third-party code;
  • Advanced written and spoken in French & English;
  • High Communication skill, ability to express information in a manner appropriate to
    different levels of people & to lead negotiations;
  • High Customer Satisfaction Skill, ability to recognize, respond to customer expectations
    with sense of urgency and even increase expectations.

Overview

  • The Embedded Linux SW Engineer is a software engineer specializing in Linux OS adapted
    to embedded systems who takes care of low-level software development activities;
  • Providing Low layer development (boot, drivers…) with strong embedded constraints,
    often security and real-time for Infotainment In-Vehicle product;
  • Taking part of technical discussion within the SW for one of the following layers:
    – Low-Layer: from microchip to kernel and drivers;
    – Middleware: on top of the kernel and below high-level software components;
    – System & Services: all the high-level software components except front-end
    applications;
    – Applications: front-end and user interaction software components including HMI.

Responsibilities

  • Software design, coding, testing & management;
  • Low layer, Vehicle Network & Diagnostic, middleware, application, HMI, Cloud;
  • System performance, Trace & Log, monitoring;
  • Calibration and product specific Tools (ASIC, SDK…);
  • Product embedded Software for Plant testing;
  • Technical solutions identification at Software level;
  • SW design compliancy with functional safety & cybersecurity regulation;
  • Define cost optimization by design, co-design and innovation;
  • SW Risk analysis (DFMEA or other);
  • Design & test low layer development for kernel, boot, drivers and at the user space level;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define & design new features;
  • Take care of the Software Detailed Design and Unit Construction (SWE.3);
  • Establish bidirectional traceability between software requirements and software detailed
    design;
  • Develop software units;
  • Communicate the agreed software detailed design to the other groups;
  • Take care of the Software Unit Verification (SWE.4);
  • Develop software unit verification strategy including regression strategy;
  • Develop criteria for unit verification (MISRA…);
  • Perform static verification of software units;
  • Test software units;
  • Participate actively in tasks forces in critical issue on Development (Bug Fixing) to solve
    technical problems and propose corrective actions;
  • Tracking, monitoring, and reporting SWE3 & SWE4 project progress;
  • Supporting the FO for the feature in all SW detailed & development activities;
  • Propose relevant technical solutions for future Software Development;
  • Communicates with peer in the Software entity and shares best practices: in time, to the
    state-of-the-art available technical knowledge, fully documented to Faurecia standards
    and SPICE Level 3.
